Despite giving me a sh1tty review on my song, that had absolutely nothing to do with the song it self, I will give you an actual review.
The voice needs a compresser to even out some of the weird shifts in volume. The guitars and bass are way louder over the vocals. But the melody and overall song construction is ace, nice job.

zombiefy1 responds:

I assume the first part about the shitty review was because of my band mate. lolz. But about the song, I agree 100% about the voice needing compression. Also, I see a little bit of what you are saying about guitar and bass being louder than the vocals. Thanks for the review, and the next song coming here in a few weeks should be better.

Cheers.

Easily your best song yet. LOVE the melody. LOVE the beats. Mix is a little fuzzy, cut some of the highs/lows off the synths, that should help clean it up. LOVE the bongos or whatever. All transitions are great man....Keep it up.

OpenLight responds:

Thanks! I'll check the mixing and if I can make it sound better then I'll either update this track or upload a remastered version somewhere.

Interesting track, but lacks structure composition wise. Also very poorly mastered and eq'ed. FabFilter is GREAT for mastering/eqing tracks, check some tutorials on them. Will help your tracks a lot. Needs more "drop" feels like the song just keeps going on with no climax. Drums are weak and overpowered by the bass. Bass is interesting but a bit sloppy. I liked the synth melody. Keep up the good work. :)

Kruizy responds:

Thank you for the review! Yeah, this track does have some serious mix issues. Next track will be sonically much better :)

Melodically, I enjoyed it. Drums need more punch and like...variation. Very good though.

OpenLight responds:

I completely agree. What drums do you use?

Awesome song. Love the chords. Only think is that I wish the kick was more full. It's really drowned out by the instruments. The kick should always be pretty clear cut above all the other sounds imo. Even the other drums are louder/more full than the kick o_0 Nice progession and sounds on this though. 5/5 and fav.

OpenLight responds:

Yeah I agree with the kick. It's mainly just a bad sample that sounded better in FL Studio haha. Thanks for the review though! I'm glad you liked it.

You have gotten so much better it's crazy. Your mixing has gotten a lot better!!! This melody is great. No complaints. Downloaded + 5 stars. I may some how incorporate this into a future live set during a break down. :)

OpenLight responds:

Thanks! If you did anything with this song it'd be awesome, seriously!

Also, unrelated, but I've been keeping up with your stuff, and somehow you've managed to improve upon your great mixing and composition skills as well. I've been kinda busy, but once I get the chance I'll shoot a few reviews your way.

Funky track homie. Love the dischord and rhythm, etc. Really nice job. Downloaded :D

AmadiaMusic responds:

Thanks much. Still draggin my heels over a final. Hope you dig my other tunes as well. :)

Clean mix. Nice intro. Love that bass. You know what you are doing lol. Not crazy wobbles, but sounds good. Some distortion in certain parts though. nj.

Warhector responds:

Thanks man :D i'm not keen for doing crazy mainstream dubstep, lol. Cheers :D

Tons of potential in this track. Nice build, nice effects. Nice sounds. Love the melody. Just some mixing problems. The kick is over distorted imo and the snare over powers it. Love the eight notes and then vibrato thingy. the swirly sound. Man I wish I had this track...I could do a lot with it. Really nice.

SierraMadreNightmare responds:

Thanks! I will be back home to check/edit a lot of things I could not on my laptop. Thanks for the advice, When it's finished maybe you will be down for re-working/remixing it?

Sound is a little to rough, mixing could use some work. nice transitions. A little too flat though, needs reverb and some delay effects or something. Nice melodies towards the end.

DJJamez responds:

Yeah, I'm not exactly the best when it comes to mixing but i'm not the worst either. And what needs more reverb or delay, an individual track? And i knew it would be a good idea to throw in that melody at the end! Thanks for the review, really helpful!
